For the 2026/27 school year the Education Bureau advertises Primary Native-speaking English Teacher posts on Master Pay Scale points 15 to 29, that is HK$35,080 to HK$67,850 per month, with secondary NET posts running further up the same scale. The Education Bureau requires a relevant degree, a Post-graduate Diploma in Education majoring in English Language, and a TEFL or TESL qualification at least at certificate level. Applications for the 2026/27 intake closed on 24 April 2026, so the NET route needs planning roughly a year ahead. Across the wider private market, monthly pay commonly runs from about HK$18,000 to HK$80,000, or roughly €1,980 to €8,800.
