Outside the classroom
By living with a local family rather than other travellers, you have a real opportunity to get an authentic, first-hand cultural experience when outside of the classroom. Living with a host family provides support in a safe environment and gives everyone the opportunity to practice and improve their language skills. You’ll help the whole family learn and practice English in the relaxing, low pressured atmosphere of the family home!

Your teaching experience
You will take on the role of teaching assistant, working in teams of teachers to improve the conversational level of each student. Following a curriculum will help you to draw up lesson plans. But there is plenty of space to infuse your own creativity into the lessons. Why not teach your students about the country and culture you come from? Or teach English through song and games. Placements vary from Spanish infant, primary, secondary, and technical colleges in Catalonia. Teachers can usually expect to teach children from early ages to 18. Your week typically runs on weekdays, with 20 hours of classroom time. This allows plenty of time for lesson planning and any extracurricular activities.
Fun and friendly
A dynamic and welcoming school team, with regular team meetings and social events.
Like home
A relaxed teaching environment with sofas and TVs! One big open-plan space encourages socialising and interaction between staff and students.
Communicative method
Enjoyable, natural lessons with lots of roleplay, speaking, realistic language and engaging topics. Students speaking and teachers encouraging, guiding, checking, correcting and training.
Small groups
Small groups of students ensure higher speaking time for each student and more practical teaching and learning activities. You will be teaching a variety of age groups. The diversity will be an exciting and rewarding experience for you as a teacher.
Technology
Online activities for blended learning and audio-visual resources in the classroom to increase engagement.
